THE EVOLUTION OF RAZ

June 2000 – Honolulu, HI: The Birth of URS

Fresh out of high school in Hawaii, Shane Anderson founded Unique Records Studios (URS), inspired by New York’s legendary Unique Recording Studios. Specializing in Hip-Hop, R&B, and Pop, he set up his first studio in a 238-square-foot apartment with a Rubbermaid vocal booth, a Korg Triton, a Roland VS-1680, and a studio mascot cat named MUSIK.

June 2003 – Los Angeles, CA: Taking the Leap

Determined to build a music career, Shane bought a one-way ticket to L.A., fully committing to his dream. But with the early 2000s music industry shift and major studios closing, including Unique Recording Studios NY, he saw an opportunity—he purchased the name and domain, carrying its legacy forward.

Facing financial struggles, he moved to the Bay Area, working for his uncle while recording and producing. During this time, he helped produce and develop Spun, a band he helped land placements on MTV and SPIKE TV.

June 2009 – Bay Area, CA: Tragedy Fuels Passion

After hearing of  the devastating loss of his best friend, Marcel, Shane channeled his grief into music, releasing his solo project, “Dangerous.” The song’s success led to a placement on The Kardashians, setting the stage for his move to Hollywood.

2009-2016 – Los Angeles, CA: The Go Gettas

Shane co-founded The Go Gettas alongside Drue and Grammy-winning producer Rob Chiarelli, securing major label, film, and TV placements. After a restructuring in 2012, Shane continued developing Unique Recording Studios. However, disillusioned with the industry, he decided it was time for a change.

2016-2018 – Sacramento, CA: A Fresh Start

Shane relocated URS to Sacramento, seeing it as an emerging hotspot for artists. He established Phase 1 of the new URS, while still producing and writing for L.A. clients while mentoring upcoming engineers and producers through The Recording Connection as a teacher and mentor.

2018-2022 – The Rebirth: Raspberry Sky Emerges

After an 8-year hiatus as an artist, Shane returned with his single “Good Love”. His journey led him to R&B legend Carl Thomas, who introduced him to Jack Knight, the renowned songwriter behind Diddy’s Bad Boy era. Soon after, Shane signed a publishing deal with MadeinENY/EMPIRE.

Under Jack Knight’s guidance, Shane made a bold move—rebranding as Raspberry Sky to step away from the industry’s predictability. Unique Recording Studios shifted focus to his personal artistry, paving the way for something greater.

2023-2024 – Raspberry Sky Goes Viral & Builds His Empire

In January 2023, Raspberry Sky’s cover of Muni Long’s “Hrs & Hrs” went viral, skyrocketing his fanbase from 4,000 to over 150,000 followers and 12+ million views. This momentum launched two nationwide tours, established the #RAZBAES movement, and solidified Raspberry Sky as a global brand.

By April 2024, he took full control of his career, launching the RAZBAE App—a private platform where fans can connect with him directly.

Raspberry Sky Haus – A Creative Sanctuary

With a vision for a true one-stop creative hub, Raspberry Sky purchased a private estate in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Sacramento, transforming it into Raspberry Sky Haus—an exclusive media complex designed for artists, producers, and creatives.

The space offers:
🎵 Private Studio Access
🎤 Artist Development
🎶 A Creative Space for Inspiration and Collaboration

Think of it as a laid-back, immersive version of Soho House, where artists can vibe, create, and innovate without industry distractions.

The Future of Raspberry Sky & URS

Raspberry Sky continues to expand his artistry and brand, prioritizing authenticity, creative independence, and innovation. His journey from a small apartment studio in Hawaii to a global music movement proves one thing—when passion meets persistence, anything is possible.
